Wonder Woman trademark was first submitted for publication for notice of opposition in the Official Gazette of the United States Patent Office, Containing the Patents, Trade-Marks, and Designs Issued March 31, 1942. "Trade-Marks" section, Volume 536 [March 1942], Number 5 [March 31, 1942], pp. 945:
"Ser. No. 448,861. M. Charles Gaines, New York, N. Y. Filed Nov. 24, 1941. Wonder Woman [logo]. Claims use since Oct. 16, 1941."
Ashcan has penciled notation that the trademark application was rejected by the U.S.P.O. (United States Patent Office) 1942.
However, the Wonder Woman trademark was granted per the Official Gazette of the United States Patent Office, Containing the Patents, Trade-Marks, and Designs Issued June 9, 1942. Volume 549 [June 1942], Number 2, pp. 265:
"395,738. Comic Magazine. M. Charles Gaines, New York, N. Y. Filed November 24, 1941. Serial No. 448,861. Published March 31, 1942. Class 38."
