Inks over pencils; colors yet to be added. This original cover artwork by Neal Adams redefined Superman's image at the tail end of the Silver Age, and for the Bronze Age, continuing the icon's evolution from the earlier versions established by Joe Shuster, Wayne Boring, and Curt Swan. This cover scene was altered somewhat for the printed cover, mainly in the background details. The piece has an image area of 10" x 15". There type elements and word balloons are replacements done on a mylar overlay.
