Kaänga had spotted them at daybreak...
Emir Shekar is teaching his stepson how to be a ruthless ruler by watching the slaughter of slaves. Kaänga frees the slaves and takes Prince Kajumba with him. Kaänga and N'sungu build a stockade for the newly-freed slaves. Shekar attacks with his war elephants. Kaänga defeats them and the prince decides that Kaänga is a better role model than the emir.

Harroo! Harroo! So does a great ape's cry thunder through the jungle.
A sacred white ape demands that Wambi worship him and is only prevented from hurting the boy by Tawn's timely interference. Then the ape falls into a crocodile pool and is rescued by Wambi and Tawn. The natives that worship the ape arrive and hope to kill Tawn. The ape stops them.

Previous indexer credited the art to Matt Baker but the definitive check-list of Baker's work in "Matt Baker -- The Art of Glamour" (2012), Jim Amash and Eric Nolan Weathington, editors, indicates that Baker's work on Fighting Comics (Fiction House, 1940 series) ended with #54. The credits here are taken from the original publication's GCD entry.
