Corporal Patrick Tubridy (former drummer of F Company); Lieutenant Farrar
Corporal Tubridy, of Her Majesty's Army in India, sat patiently watching new recruits engaging in bayonet drills after previously trying to teach them the proper use of the Martini rifle at the firing range the day before. Taking no more, he jumped to his feet, grabbed a bayoneted rifle and properly showed the raw recruits the Haymaker's Lift, which could lift an enemy soldier right off his feet. Then he began to relate one of his stories about his many campaigns in the service, including his story of drumming recall of his company during an attack.
