Story #19. 1st in a long series of "original" 007 stories not based on any previously-existing novels or short stories. The sub-plot involving an all-girl gang led by a circus aerialist predates the film OCTOPUSSY by 15 years.

Story #21. Faithful adaptation of Kingsley Amis' only 007 novel (the 15th book in the series) from 1968. While this story has never been adapted as any of the films, elements from it have turned up in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (1999) and DIE ANOTHER DAY (2002); the sequence on The Acropolis, leading to Bond's teaming up with a female Russian agent, also mirrors that set near the Pyramids in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (1977).

Felix Bruhl, main promoter of the project (and former associate of the late Ernst Blofeld) plots a hijacking in order to ransom the crowd of bigwigs onboard for 20 million pounds! He also tries to have Bond keelhauled thru shark-infested waters (shades of LIVE AND LET DIE), but Bond escapes and metes out justice to Bruhl & his thugs.

Story #24. The hang-glider sequence is almost identical to the one used 2 years later in the film LIVE AND LET DIE (1973), while the plot involving doubles (a popular idea used in countless series, including several episodes of THE AVENGERS) was later used in the Raymond Benson 007 novel DOUBLESHOT (2000).
