Synopsis: Thanos is alerted to a new threat taking shape in the universe. He discovers that Eternity is in a coma from an unknown power source. Thanos runs across the lair of the Magus, where he is entertained by the villain and a doppelganger of himself. Thanos leaves. Back on earth, a group of heroes are attacked by demonic versions of themselves. Mr. Fantastic contacts earth's super groups to fill them in on this new danger. Dr. Doom also discovers this new and dangerous power and takes Kang as an ally. Thanos arrives on Monster Island to tell the Infinity Watch what he has discovered.

Synopsis: The heroes gather to discuss the new threat. Hawkeye is attacked by an evil duplicate of himself. Spider-Man steps in to help but is brought down by Iron Man. Galactus and his cosmic allies arrive on Earth. Thanos and the Infinity Watch travel to gaze into the Infinity Well. Warlock learns that the Magus is the evil side of himself. Death drives them off. As Mr. Fantastic explains that he was attacked by a duplicate, Iron Man and Wolverine claim that both Reed and Tony are fakes. The heroes begin to battle, but Mr. Fantastic halts the fracas by detonating a Gamma Bomb and blowing everybody up.

Synopsis: Invisible Woman and Thor divert the power of a gamma bomb. The Magus and the duplicate of Thanos arrive and take the fake Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man out from under the heroes' noses. Galactus and Doctor Strange look for the Magus, but Doom and Kang are hot on their tail. The Magus destroys Galactus' ship. The Infinity Watch and Thanos track the Magus' signal to a far-off planet and arrive as Doom and Kang leap away. Earth's heroes arrive at the same location and begin to battle Adam Warlock and his allies. The heroes on Earth are attacked by evil duplicates of themselves.

Synopsis: The heroes battle their evil doppelgangers and tackle Warlock, Thanos and the Infinity Watch. Galactus contemplates using the Ultimate Nullifier. Kang and Doom discover his power source. Galactus transports Warlock and the heroes. Thor discovers that the Magus has created a duplicate universe. Warlock gathers the Infinity Gems back into the Infinity Gauntlet to take down the Magus. Unfortunately, the Gauntlet is useless. The Magus captures Warlock and the Infinity Gauntlet. Thanos asks Quasar to destroy their foe with the Ultimate Nullifier.

First Line: In a plane of existence with little relation to our own.
Synopsis: Quasar takes the Ultimate Nullifier, but he can't make it work. The Magus snatches the Infinity Gauntlet from the captured Warlock, but it doesn't work. Doom and Kang use this moment to attack the Magus and almost defeat him when Galactus finally convinces the Living Tribunal to let the Infinity Gems work together once again, giving Magus supreme power. Thanos leads earth's heroes in a last-ditch effort to stop the Magus, but they end up once again fighting duplicates of themselves. The Magus gets familiar with his new powers while gloating in front of the captured Warlock.

First Line: Power!
Synopsis: Galactus sends Earth's heroes to stop the Magnus. He puts them in stasis. He and Thanos battle. Warlock and the Magus engage in a battle of wills. Within Warlock, the might of Infinity and Eternity battle the Magus. The heroes are returned to their home locations. Warlock is in a coma from his battle. Thanos explains that the Reality Gem in the Infinity Gauntlet was a fake. Eternity proclaims that the Infinity Gems will never be allowed to work together again. The Magus finds himself trapped within the Soul Gem. Thanos returns to his farm. The Goddess has possession of the five Cosmic Cubes.
