Strong Bow
Strong Bow finds a valley where invading Aztecs are enslaving locals to build a pyramid. Slaves are painted with an eagle emblem, so he paints himself to get inside. He rallies a squad of slaves, sneaks out in a basket of dirt, and drops a landslide into a river with well-shot arrows. The slaves escape over the temporary dam, and return as an army to fight for freedom. The Aztecs promise peace from now on.

Johnny Thunder
Johnny Thunder [John Tane]
The Crazy Hat Gang erects a scarecrow of Johnny Thunder and shoots it up as a warning "if that lawman ever dares show his face around here!" Schoolteacher John Tane (JT's secret identity) stands up to the outlaws and gets thrown through a window. Changing to Johnny Thunder, he hides out by night and waits... Morning, as the outlaws ride to their scarecrow, it fires blazing six-guns! With surprise on his side, the "scarecrow" thumps the outlaws. The sheriff even pins a badge on the scarecrow. "A tin star for a straw man!"
