Professor Lathem, injured severely during an experiment in space flight during one of his college classes, miraculously survives the explosion, but is warned by the college Dean not to engage in such dangerous experiments again. Unfortunately, the professor does not see eye to eye with the Dean, so resigns and builds a new rocket engine in his barn. It is successful, but kills Hiram Jenkins in the process. Lathem's fate, however, is quite unexpected.......to himself!

un-named ship's Captain; Devers
A Captain and his crew land on a weird planet whose surface was like green felt......a planet that swallowed the ship and crew, then spewed them out of its interior.....like vomit. As the ship took off, the whole crew had the answer to a concern that they all had been arguing about: that, even though they thought man was the highest form of evolutionary structure, they had just been proven wrong.....by the planet itself!
