In forbidding hills, Strong Bow is tugged underground, but shoots his way clear. His attackers are tribesmen hunted by Blue Feather, who took control of their tribe. Strong Bow goes out and lures the villains into caves where they're ambushed by falling stalactites and camouflaged archers. The tribe is reunited and Strong Bow moves on.

Schoolteacher John Tane (JT's secret identity) has his Indian friend Swift Deer show the pupils how to communicate with smoke signals. The kids think it's a waste of time. Later JT sees smoke signals and rescues Swift Deer from a grizzly bear. But more signals come from the school, where the kids are held hostage by bandits after JT. He rushes to the rescue and the kids gets credit for quick thinking.
