Johnny Thunder
Johnny Thunder [John Tane]
Sheriff Tane begs his son John, the schoolteacher (and JT's secret identity) to help fight crime, but John sticks to books. When the Dry Gulch Gang rides in, the Sheriff stands up - and is shot down, wounded. Townspeople appoint John as Sheriff! He can't fight as John, so "clumsily" tangles with the gang long enough to get free and change to Johnny Thunder, the Western Whirlwind! The Dry Gulchers rope JT's arms, but he shoots clear and beats them down.
