Fearless Flint [Jack Bradley] (introduction; origin); June Anderson; Lewis Stanley; Chief Wakai; John Anderson; Itai; the Lava Man
Fearless Flint, 'the famous Flint Man', makes his first national appearance.
Jack Bradley is working on carving the four presidential stone heads in South Dakota when two native South Sea islanders tamper with his electical supply, and he falls onto a ledge. The rockfall which lands on him transforms his body into flint, but it returns to normal after a while, until struck by metal. He sails to the island of Tanna, where he finds the Lava Man inciting the locals to kill the white intruders. He manages to save June Anderson, but not her scientist father, and transforms into Fearless Flint as the natives attack once more.
