But when he left her in Spain while he went on a trip to Italy, he met Alida and was so overwhelmed with her that he temporarily forgot Ana. He returned to Spain to break the news to Ana, but she had been injured in an automobile accident that had left her unable to walk. Under the circumstances, he did not feel he could tell Ana about Alida.
