First Line:
Only last night pretty 18-year-old Chris Young, cashier at Calligan's Circus, had agreed, after a whirlwind romance to become engaged to dark handsome Clive Drew, the knifethrower.
Synopsis:
Chris and her father are cashiers at Callagan's Circus. Chris had agreed to marry the knife thrower, but the next morning she and her father were found drugged and the money missing from the safe. When the police searched their trailer, they found the money in Chris' coat pocket where the knife thrower's assistant had planted it. To protect his daughter, Sam confesses and spends a year in jail. Chris leaves the circus and starts going out with a newspaper reporter. He's asks her to marry him, but she feels she must tell him about her past first. Before she can, he takes her to the circus.
