Some lettering on page one (panels 1-2) and page three (panel 7) looks slightly different (slanted) from Eisenberg’s norm. It looks very much like Vic Lockman's lettering. Perhaps Lockman was pressed into service for some last-minute dialogue changes.

Bertie and Billie each make New Year's resolutions. Bertie resolves to keep out of trouble and not "go on any adventure that seems the least bit dangerous", while Billie resolves "not to be so terribly cross". In the process of saving a baby chick caught in a clump of vines, they both manage to break their resolutions.
