In a remote rural area, mountains suddenly fly through the air and whole forests are uprooted!
Rhett Shaw returns to his rural village after studying science at college. Whit Carter challenges Shaw to a fight to continue the family feud. Shaw declines and suggests they forget the feud. Shaw drives home but is stopped by a force bubble. The aliens discuss their duel where they use the natural forces of a planet to fight. The villagers shelter in a cave to escape the battle. Shaw hears the aliens telepathically and learns that they have each won 127 victories on other planets. Shaw discovers the alien weapons are vulnerable to nitric acid and they leave Earth after shaking hands.

Commander John (Johnny) Haldane; Unnamed traveller
The enemy's launched a tornado attack against us! We've got to make a run for it!
Young Johnny Haldane is fishing when a stranger thanks him for saving his life. Johnny has never seen him before but the stranger says he will understand in time. All sightings of the stranger over the years are wrong. By 1977 John is a commander in the meteorological military. Controlling weather has taken the place of atomic warfare. John goes out on patrol and finds a man in a snow drift. The man tells John that he is from the year 3957 and must get back to his time machine. The man leaves and because he cannot return to the same time goes back a further 20 years to say thank you.
