Notes: "Les Mauvais rêves" est la première aventure de la série de bande dessinée Valérian et Laureline. Le titre original, lors de la publication hebdomadaire dans le journal Pilote, du 9 novembre 1967 (N° 420) au 15 février 1968 (N° 434), est "Valérian contre les mauvais rêves". En 1983, l'histoire est publiée pour la première fois dans un album Hors-série "Mézières et Christin avec..." dans un format en 30 planches. "Les Mauvais rêves" a ensuite été publié en mars 2000 en tant qu'album n°0 de la série intégrale des aventures de Valérian et Laureline.

"Les Mauvais rêves" is the first adventure of the Valérian et Laureline series. The original title in the weekly magazine Pilote, from 9th November 1967 (#420) to 15th February 1968 (#434), was "Valérian contre les mauvais rêves". In 1983, the story was reprinted for the first time in the special album "Mézières et Christin avec ...". "Les Mauvais rêves" was rereleased in March 2000 as album number 0 in the series of the Valérian et Laureline.

Synopsis: The adventure begins in the year 2720 in Galaxity, the capital of the earth and its galactic empire. Most of humanity is only engaged in programmed dreaming. Dissatisfied with Galaxity and the evolution of humanity, technocrat Xombul sabotages the programming of the dream machines and then flees to France in the year 1000. Space-time agent Valérian is sent to capture Xombul and is trapped in an enchanted forest, but is rescued by the medieval girl Laureline. Valérian continues his search for Xombul with assistance from Laureline…
