Lana learns that the reason Smallville residents are still in comas is due to their brain energy being sent into space, and informs Wonder Woman. Lois talks to Metallo about a mission. Steel tries to help but ends up fighting the Atomic Skull. Superman battles Metallo while trying to save him. A Kryptonite cloud is dispersed in the atmosphere. This just ends up making Superman transform further into Doomsday.

Batman's group gets rid of the Kryptonite in the air, enabling Superman to change back. They beat Brainiac's robots, but the fight isn't over.

Feeling a bit useless and depressed, Clark posts a "Who Needs Superman, Anyway" story on his blog, and Lois comes over to tear him a new one. She writes a counter-point for the Daily Planet. Meanwhile, Lana is attacked in a graveyard.
