Sandra is interested in Don from the broadcasting station so tries to write a winning slogan for their competition. She overhears the winner didn’t put a name on the entry and convinces the station it was hers. The prize is a copy-writing job Sandra can’t do and she uses Don’s ideas. Her deceit reaches a crisis when the real prize winner turns up and Don can’t help her meet a deadline. It’s time for a change. She turns in her own work, makes things right with the real winner and leaves. Don tracks her down—her last project was very good. The company wants her back and so does Don.

Donna once loved Frankie, who’s in prison. She now loves respectable Neil and collects rent for his mother, including from Frankie’s family. When Frankie is released, Donna runs into him. She rushes to get away and is knocked over by a burglar. Donna won’t admit she was with Frankie so he is convicted for the crime. She avoids collecting rent from his family for months, but is eventually confronted by the consequences of her silence. Donna tells the police and Frankie is freed. Neil is ashamed, but he loves Donna and they are eventually reconciled.

Rising-star Karen loses two lovers and nearly her career by being herself. Martha, Karen’s housekeeper and confidant, advises her to hide her sincerity and just show glamour. It works in the studio, but is a turnoff for Karen’s new lover, Dave. But Martha orchestrates a chance for Dave to see the real Karen, as an apology for her poor advice. Karen concludes, “True love cannot come to any girl who is not first true to herself…”
