The Apache named Dragon Face favors burning settlers at the stake. Aloysius Kare finds Dragon Face's handy-work, and must try to stop Dragon Face from convincing Chief Red Hawk that this is the way to deal with the white man's encroachment. His approach, unfortunately, puts Mary Gregory in harm's way, and the Apache Kid must rescue her from being burned at the stake.
