Nazi Corporal Langer; American PFC Jack Hall
For the man who stood like an iron statue...
Two soldiers on opposite sides... Nazi Cpl Langer stands like an iron statue and blows a tank, earning an Iron Cross... PFC Jack Hall desperately holds a position and receives a Bronze Star... The two men converge on a stone tower for an observation post. They battle. The Nazi sneers as the American ducks and dives. But in a final fight in the dark, "Iron is brittle... and it breaks." The GI reflects how the medals themselves really did the fighting.
