The car's sure running smoothly, Bascomb! I'll bet no one knows as much about engines and motors than you do!
Two crooks steal two of Bascomb's vehicles - a car and a speedboat. When Bascomb resorts to a jet plane, he and Richie encounter a zeppelin in their path, and the culprits order them to land on the roof of the zeppelin. After following their orders, Richie questioned the thefts, but the victims are ordered to skydive to show how powerful the culprits are and to prove to Mr. Rich how powerless the victims are believed to be.

Dag-blasted car! Why won't it start?
As Richie and Bascomb land safely on the Rich Estate, Mr. Rich's car won't start and he wants to know why. It is revealed that the crooks want to control engines - even making the police vehicles inoperable - and the crooks are very dangerous and demand a billion dollars in ransom and has the stolen vehicles inside the crook's invisible dirigible, but Richie and company rely on skateboards and a device in Richie's hand to make the crooks' schemes backfire and the dirigible land in Lake Moola where an arrest is made.

The Riches are shocked when Nurse Jenny announces her resignation as the family's private nurse since all of the relatives are healthy. But the family realizes that Nurse Jenny plays an important role and Richie believes she is faking. But Nurse Jenny finds non-human objects that need to be nursed back to good health, and in the end, she complained about the staff who treated the objects poorly and reverses her resignation decision, but wants to give them refresher courses.
