Alter Ego #125 contains an early Tarantula splash page illustrated by Lee Harris. The art is dated April 24, 1941, and a 1941 copyright notice for Leland Harris (Lee's legal name at the time) is penciled in. This artwork was handed down to Harris' son, Jonathan.

Olga, John Law's housekeeper, tells him that the radio announcers called him both Spider Man and Tarantula. Dian Belmont, from the Sandman, does not appear in this version of the origin story.
