I'll tell everyone I saw you kissing teacher in school!
Cathy arrives as the new teacher at Northwold, desperate to forget her broken romance with Alec and keep men out of her life. Tom tries to give Cathy a lift, but she refuses. After Susie brings a rat to school, Cathy sends the girl home. Susie's brother Tom is sent to defend her, but Tom invites Cathy to a barn dance. A romance is blossoming when Alec arrives and asks Cathy to come back. Susie sees Alec kiss Cathy, but Tom arrives to see Cathy try to push Alec away. Tom punches Alec. Cathy and Tom admit they love each other.

I give this warning! I am blind, but my hearing and my aim are perfect…
Rupert identifies Craddock as a racketeer on the run, Lance as his bodyguard, and Lance's girlfriend Sonia as the shooter. Sonia tells Lance to shoot Rupert, but Rupert shoots him in the wrist first, targetting the click of the gun hammer. Sonia did it because she wants Rupert and takes what she wants. The storm subsides and the coastguard arrives for the criminals. Rupert tells Kathy of his dead wife, a fabulous violinist who when he was blinded in the war. Rupert says he loves Kathy and she responds.

Orphan Joanna gets a job at a flower shop. Tony—the 'man of her dreams'—buys roses. Joanna expects them to be for a beautiful woman, but finds they are for his elderly grandmother, who asks Joanna to stay and read to her. Joanna does it regularly and one night sees Tony fight with his girlfriend, who finds Tom's grandmother creepy and is bored with going to a ball. Mrs Howard arranges for Joanna to go to the ball with her grandson. It is a wonderful evening, but Joanna decides that Tom can never find out she is a poor orphan. Tony tracks her to the florist and professes his love.

Begins today-the story of Anne Stirling a vivacious adventure-seeking waitress, who found romance and thrills amidst the perils of the high seas...
Dreaming of travel, Anne becomes a stewardess on the 'Calypso Queen'. On the train there, she meets passenger Greg, but the Chief Steward immediately prohibits mixing with passengers. He then attempts to sexually assault her and, after she pushes him off, threatens to make her life hard. When a large chest drops toward Anne, Greg saves her. After recovering, Anne is sent to prepare the Captain's cabin where she overhears that Scotland Yard anticipates trouble and has placed an undercover agent on board. Anne knocks over a water jug and is discovered.

Eve performed with her parents as The Three Hugos until they were sacked as Hungarians at the start of world war II. The family found work in a circus in South Africa, where Eve met Trevor. Serving during the war, Trevor was missing in action, presumed dead. Eve waited and they married after the war, despite her parents' opposition. A few years later, Eve got work with Geraldo's Band in England. Trevor had little to do as her manager and moved to Australia for a 'proper job'. Eve was determined they reunite and Trevor returned to Eve and his son.

Angry at Robin's behaviour, Cindy smashes cups in the kitchen. Business goes well so Robin and Archie take a break at lunchtime and Cindy is left working, feeling she is treated like a slave. The three toughs again come to the café. When one tries to kiss Cindy, Jacqueline pours coffee on him and a fight breaks out. Robin and Archie return, but it is too late and the café is destroyed. The former owner offers to buy it back cheaply, suggesting a con job. Cindy cries on Robin's shoulder, all her money gone. Robin remains confident they will make a fortune.
