Two amusing oddities: (1): Upon capturing Bugs for a stew, pirate Murk expresses surprise that a rabbit can talk. Perhaps the first such "concept-acknowledgement" in Bugs' long comics career.

(2): Writer Don R. Christensen offers a little in-joke with the reveal that the giant pearl was "...Made in Racine, Wisconsin" - the location of the home offices of Western Publishing.
