In the future an Earth crew from one side of the galaxy go into the hostile other side of the galaxy to rescue a couple of marooned scientists. Denizens of the second galaxy's planet Dagor let them go without any problems. The Earth ship's captain finds that odd and suspects something is wrong. After landing on an asteroid they detect a spore on their ship that grows all over the asteroid. They now know this was intended for Earth. After another crew from Earth destroys the asteroid, the crew returns to Earth where they are hailed as heroes.
