Uncle Wiggily digs a hole deep under a tree to bury his fortune. However a fox chases Kitty Puss into the hole and after Uncle Wiggily keeps him from entering, the fox fills in the entrance. Uncle Wiggily and Kitty burrow their way to the safety of the Bushytails' home in a nearby hollow tree.

Wiggily escapes by coasting the bed downhill, only to find that its wide flat surface causes it to fly.
