After receiving a letter from Hal Younger, Buck comes to his Rocking-H ranch near Gila City. He arrives to find the ranch house in flames and learns that Hal has been knifed and money he kept in a strong box is missing. Buck stays in Gila City, but the knife killer strikes again that night, killing the postmaster and robbing the post office. Two men in town are handy with knives and Buck has to find out which one is the killer.
