She tries to hide her feelings for Mark as he falls for fashion model Billie Day. One day in the dark room Mark kisses Claire by mistake and she realizes she is madly in love with Mark. Billie leaves Mark for a film career with Mr. Fleming. Mark tries to get over Billie and starts dating Claire. Lon appears and wants Claire. She refuses. Billie comes back and wants Mark. He refuses. Mark and Claire end up with each other.

Eve is expecting Burt to propose at dinner, which he does. She accepts. Her father asks Burt to support his bill he is proposing for a highway on the South Side of town. Burt tells him no, that he will not support it due to Mr. Flint owning the land on the south side and he will be the only one to profit. Mr. Flint tells Burt he does not own land there. Burt tells him he knows he does. This leads to Mr. Flint having a heart attack. Burt attacks Flint's plan in his newspaper and his bill is defeated. He has another heart attack and Eve blames Burt. Burt was right and they reunite.

Social worker Ody Bergstrom wants the Timmy Regan case and gets it over her fiancé Hal. She goes to the house and introduces herself to Timmy and his older brother Ted. She tells Ted that he needs to clean up the house and be more supportive of Timmy. She also wants Timmy to come to the dance tonight. Ted says he will clean up the house and get Timmy there if she will dance with him. Ody says no deals but she will see him at the dance. Ted arrives and cuts in on Hal and dances with Ody. They fall in love but Ted is really socialite Theodore Stockdale. All ends well.

Vanya is an operative for the Polish underground helping smuggle children to the Allies. She is working at Nazi headquarters as secretary for her new boss Captain Kurt Helgar and supplies information to the underground. The last movement of children is to take place but one is sick so they have to call a doctor who must report it. They have to move quickly and take all the children. The Nazis are after them in a boat but another boat approaches and rams the Nazis. It is Pegley. They bring him on board and discover that it is Kurt. Vanya and Kurt go to America and live happily ever after
