Synopsis: Nobu is killed by Daida's samurai but leaves a confession of his wrongdoings and those of Daida's with his daughter Yuki. Usagi defends Yuki from Daida's men and brings the matter to Inspector Ishida. Ishida arrests Daida but Daida is killed in his cell - evidently to protect his unknown superior.

Synopsis: Oga dies after eating fugu supposedly bought from Toto. Ishida investigates and Usagi again aids him as Toto proves the fugu wasn't his, instead leading them to Takomaru. Takomaru's son admits he prepared the fugu for Oga in the hopes of winning his favor but his imperfect skill at preparing the food poisoned Oga. The son swallows blowfish poison and dies in disgrace.

Muro blinds Usagi with poison but even blinded Usagi is able to slay him. Kitsune and Kiyoko are permitted to leave the city, but Kiyoko steals Inspector Ishida's jitte before they go.
