Originally advertised in DC books cover-dated August 1964 as Giant Superman Annual #9 before the decision was made to consolidate all DC's "Annual" books into one series. The word "Giant" in the logo was hastily re-lettered as a burst that reads "80 pg. Giant," but the outline of the word "Giant" can still clearly be seen along the bottom of the burst.
