Continuing their search for Arak's homeland, the friends dock at a port where there are plenty of ships at anchor, but no people. When they search the area, they're ambushed by an old enemy of Re-is Hazz', Samakin the pirate. Samakin and his men have been delivering sacrifices to a local priest of Shiva for sacrifice and getting gold in return. When Samakin pushes a little too hard for payment for the latest prisoners, the priest transforms into the image of Shiva and begins slaughtering everybody. But, Arak's divine heritage shows up once again when he slays the creature with its own weapon.

The companions are amazed when a mute, green, winged woman lands on their ship while they are at port. Soldiers approach and demand her return, but (after coming ashore), she flies off, carrying a love-smitten Alsind with her. Arak and friends follow to retrieve their friend but, when they finally catch up to the lovers, the winged woman tries to keep Alsind away from them. The truth comes out when she transforms into a huge slug, a scion of the Serpent Lord. She didn't really see Alsind as a lover; he was going to be her lunch! Luckily, Arak manages to destroy the beast with fire.

Arak; Valda; Satyricus; Malagigi; Alsind; Captain Re-is Hazz; Thor; Loki
Arak recalls an adventure he had when still with the Vikings. He and his men had claimed a whale carcass when a rival clan attacked them. Arak fell in the battle and was taken to Valhalla by a valkyrie. When he arrives, Thor approaches to meet one of his nominal worshipers, but Arak declares that He-No is the rightful God of Thunder, prompting a battle with the god (with a little prodding from Loki, that is). Arak proves his mettle, and divine heritage, by lifting the hammer, Mjollnir, and Thor offers to return the Viking to the land of the living. Arak agrees and leaves on good terms.
