Beast Boy's guardian, afraid that Gar will learn he has been stealing from his trust fund, puts out a hit on Gar. Beast Boy tries to convince the Doom Patrol of this, but they are interrupted and end up investigating strange signals from a tiny island where they encounter Kranus, emperor of robots.
