Blaze is up for re-election as sheriff of Red Dog, and lawyer Honest John Dabney is standing against him. When Blaze's nephew Peter arrives for a vacation, he brinhgs a box of crayons, and is soon drawing beards on the election posters. Blaze recognizes Dabney with a crayon beard from a wanted poster of murderer and robber Jess Douglas.
