Character(s):
Dan Brand [White Indian]; Tipi; Hutchins; General George Washington
Synopsis:
It is deep winter and supplies for the Revolutionary Army are desperately low. Dan and Tipi appeal to the locals to contribute to the army, but are hampered by a small group of traitors in the pay of the British. Hutchins is the ringleader, and provokes Dan into a duel of honor. On the field of battle Hutchins wins the toss for first shot, but Dan's accusing eyes burn into him, and he misses. Dan fires upwards and Hutchins faints. The settlers organize a small band of wagons laden with supplies, but en route they are intercepted by a British patrol. He leads them away from the wagons.
