Tom Runyon!
Babe and Blackie burn a house to destroy any evidence they left. The swag, a wrist-watch, is peanuts. Mike the fence heps them to bigger things: Senator Harriman's stamp collection. They and a third man go there. With a crowbar Babe kills the butler who surprised them. They burn the place, absconding with the collection and a thousand three-cent stamps. A clerk calls headquarters when Babe tries to sell some of the stamps Mike had refused. Fingerprints lead to Mike, and the entire crew of boys and fence are taken. Criminals always slip up. Crime doesn't pay.

Lt. Graves; Joe Benway; Dutch Heinrich (death)
Young Joe saves the downed plane and it's crew, and offers them hospitality until his dad gets back and can pull their plane from the pit's edge. He returns to the plane, saving it again, now from a Nazi-sympathizing crackpot neighbor, with whom he struggles. The crackpot spilled gasoline on himself in the struggle, and when he overpowers Joe and lights a match to the plane, he himself also catches fire, then tumbles over the edge of the pit, and breaks his neck at the bottom. Joe puts out the fire to the plane and is highly praised by the crew for saving their craft, praise he values highly.
