The initial copyright record (B319389) erroneously shows a date of "1966-12-08" for both issue #5 and #6. The copyright renewal record (RE679600) gives the correct date for issue #5 as "1966-09-08". This accurately reflects the fact that a Gold Key comic with a date of December 1966 in its indicia would have been on sale in September 1966.

The pair conclude Super Goof needs to augment his brawn with brain so Goofy invites his brainy nephew to swallow a Super Goober and become “Super Gilbert”. The “Super-Twosome” plan works well and, after defeating a mad scientist who creates man-made twisters to level and devalue the surrounding countryside into “cheap land acquisitions”, Super Goof and Super Gilbert (later called “Super Gilly”) become a regular recurring team for the rest of the Western Publishing run.
