Synopsis:
Vicky, who “spent most of her life in the tenement section of an overcrowded, dusty city,” moves to the countryside to be a “domestic” on a farm. She and neighboring farmer Clem fall in love, but he’s “helplessly trapped in [the] clutches” of his “neurotic” mother who claims to be ill. When their house catches fire, Clem risks his life to save his mother and she changes her mind, giving her blessing to Clem and Vicky’s romance.
