Church... fell on me... years ago...
Luba, Hilda and Ofelia are living with a group of hippies in a free love village commune outside Isleta, led by Sebastian and Antonino. Sebastian successfully tends to Ofelia's serious back pain not due to his supposed healing skills but thanks to pills. Luba connects with Antonino, a muscular laborer, which later results in her second child, Maricela being born. Encroaching military violence forces them to leave abruptly. They settle down in one town where Luba works as a bañadora, then another town. Finally they settle on a small town with no telephone or television named Palomar.
