Synopsis: Glass thinks back to his shame - a hit that had taken out its intended victim but also the mother of a nearby boy. Glass believes he sees the boy in the boat. Guide Tshimumba relates his account of how he was forced to guide rebel troops to a secret place where they could continue to slaughter gorillas. There Tshimumba escaped after watching soldiers being decapitated after being drawn up into trees. Suddenly the mercs, surrounded by troops, are to be taken to rebel leader Kabila. Glass attacks but is again distracted by a vision of the boy, and is recaptured.
