In the past, King Richard asks Merlin to use his magic to determine what the future will be like and if people will still remember him. Merlin creates five discs that can travel through time and obey commands. These discs (or dots) arrive in the future at Dot's house, where they help her father wallpaper a room. The discs return to the past with several objects, including Dot's history book, providing King Richard with the answers to his questions.
