Initials "D.L." may be another pseudonym or pen name for British female nurse and novelist Lucilla Matthew Andrews Crichton (20 November 1919-3 October 2006)--a.k.a. Lucilla Andrews, Diana Gordon, Joanna Marcus--who later authored an expanded account titled "No Time For Romance: an Autobiography" published July 14, 1977 by Chambers Harrap Publishers. Phil Boyle was a long-time assistant to Ham Fisher (creator of Joe Palooka). After Ham Fisher's earlier assistant Al Capp quit in 1934, Fisher hired away Capp's top assistant Moe Leff after which a bitter feud would ensue between cartoonists Fisher and Capp.
