Howdy, folks! In case you don’t recognize me, I’m Huck Hound… but in this story I play the part of The Masked Deputy of the Desert! This is my hoss, “Fearless”!
Huck, as secret avenging hero “The Masked Deputy” (whom people everywhere recognize precisely *because* of his mask), rids a western town of the outlaw “The Unmasked Grime”… and finally figures out how to slip into welcome obscurity at the same time.

While Michael Maltese wrote only one Huckleberry Hound cartoon during his time with Hanna-Barbera, the humor he demonstrated as the sole writer of the Quick Draw McGraw cartoon series is on full display here. Throw in the cynical nature and snappy dialogue seen in the previous story and Maltese gets the call here as well. Pete Alvarado draws this story in a perfect classic Hanna-Barbera style.
