Serdo and Magre try to get the other truckers to sabotage the building of the railroad, so they can take over their businesses, expecting truck traffic to increase after the railroad has been built.

Lassie, Rocky and Timbu visit Luis Gomes to make a series of photos on the life of a seringueiro (rubber gatherer). On their way to gather rubber from the scattered trees, Luis hurts his leg. The next day his son Diego goes to the jungle to gather the rubber. Lassie and Timbu follow him, and with the help of Lassie's nose, trailing Luis' trip of the day before, they find the trees - and a whole lot more.

As Reina watches a herd of peccaries finish off a jaguar, she finds Kugar, the leader of the herd, charging against Tarr, apparently the cub of the killed jaguar. Having saved Tarr, she brings him up with her own slightly older cubs.
