Another Sadie Hawkins Day race finds Li'l Abner being pursued by a woman over nine feet tall and betting Bat-a-Million Bashby that he won't be caught. A tragedy occurs as Marryin' Sam tries to perform a Five Dollah Weddin'. The story also includes the oft-reprinted origin of Sadie Hawkins Day.

Most of the strips not reprinted involve sub-plots. One sequence involves a conflict between Mammy Yokum and Joan L. Sullivan which explains why Pappy Yokum is running in the Sadie Hawkins Day Race.
