Notes:
As recounted by Roy Thomas in Alter Ego #6, Autumn 2000, this issue was heavily edited and rewritten from Gary Friedrich's script when it was discovered that the story closely resembled the movie Casablanca and the likenesses of Humphrey Bogart, Sidney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre and Claude Raines were used. Fearing a lawsuit, Stan Lee required changes in dialogue and art, employing Allyn Brodsky to rewrite Friedrich's script, and Dick Ayers altered the characters faces. Sam Sawyer appears in flashback.
Notes:
Letters from Gary Ryant, Tony Isabella, Shirley Gorman, and Kevin Carey; includes images from earlier issues. Letters page appears in between pages 12-13 of story.
