Uncertainty as to who is the scriptwriter. Might be Walt Kelly, as this episode fits nicely in with the following installments, and has several Kelly characteristics. Art definitely is not by Kelly. Notes to "Our Gang, Vol. 2" (Fantagraphics 2007) shed no light on this problem. Arthur Jameson art credit (?) compare his work in Santa Claus Funnies #2 ("The Christmas Chimes") online at https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=17795.
