Mr. Rich is so close to finding out who the guilty person is while reading his mystery novel, but the light bulb blew, and he is in desparate need of finding a source of light in order to find out the verdict. Mr. Rich accidentally left the book in the kitchen, but Chef Pierre put the book back in the library, somewhere on a shelf that it would take forever for Mr. Rich to find. He suddenly lost interest, even though Richie had successfully replaced the bulb.

Professor Keenbean invents a device that produces 3-D images of police officers with sound effects in order to thwart robbers. But Richie's plan - putting up signs allowing thieves to trespass on the Rich estate - makes robbers-to-be believe it's a trap, and it works!

Little Dot's Uncle Eureko, from prehistoric times, shows Dot some of inventions: sandals, eating utensils, a back scratcher, an axe, and a saw - all of which were already invented! Uncle Eureko was disappointed, and went back to the prehistoric era along with his creations in a time machine, which Dot thought was a phone booth, to show his friends.
