Four years later, newly-divorced Todd returns for a visit and Marion offers to divorce Les and marry him. Todd says “we couldn’t build a happy life based on someone else’s misery,” and Marion later learns he’s already engaged to Cynthia. Marion confesses all to Les and he forgives her.

Peg will have to hope Tommy returns safely so she can apologise for her actions.
