Subject Matter
superhero
Clark Kent [Superman]; Barry Allen [Flash]; Theodore Knight [Starman]; Captain Harold "Hal" Jordan [Green Lantern]; Lex Luthor; Lois Lane; Thomas Edison; Nicola Tesla; Jonathon and Martha Kent; Thomas and Martha Wayne, and their young son Bruce (cameo); Oliver Queen [the Green Arrow]; an unnamed anarchist
The late 1800s begins an age of discovery, commerce, and science. In the midst of this is Clark Kent, using his powers as "the Superman". Through him, other heroes are created, and Kryptonian science is examined for the betterment of mankind. Clark loves reporter Lois Lane and has a rivalry with Lex Luthor. Not everyone benefits from this "Age of Wonder", including disenfranchised factory workers. One creates a bomb that nearly destroys a building and kills some bystanders, including Bruce Wayne's parents. Then, Lex and Green Lantern conspire to eliminate Clark, who is too idealistic for them.
