Gloria graduates from junior college and opts for a secure, civil service job as secretary to Andrew, head of the Office of Zoological Research. She falls in love with him but he’s “married only to my work” and leaves on an expedition to Peru. Gloria memorises his notes then destroys them so he’ll have to take the “blackmailing moron” along. They discover an immortal lost tribe whose king Regnor wants Gloria to be queen. Although she thinks she loves Regnor, Gloria saves Andrew’s life and they flee the secret valley: Regnor dies of old age when he pursues them. Andrew admits he loves Gloria.

College freshman Ed falls for Sylvia, a self-confident coed who mocks and dislikes him. By the next year, Sylvia is dating football hero Jack. Sylvia tricks Ed into kissing her to win a bet, and Ed decides to forget her by dating nice girl Judy. Ed graduates and becomes a noted scientist, with Judy as his secretary. Seven years later, Jack goes to work for Ed and through him Sylvia learns Ed’s discoveries may make him rich, so she pretends she loves him. Ed learns Sylvia is a fortune-hunter but risks his life to save her after a lab explosion, then tells her off. He now knows he loves Judy.

Bored government typist Fay is happy when she becomes a confidential secretary in the Defense Department. She rejects the advances of fellow worker Philip and falls in love with scientist Timothy instead. Timothy tells her he’s gotten a fatal dose of radiation and will die in three days, but Fay knows the government has a secret device that can save him. Fay steals the plans for the device then learns Timothy is a foreign agent and has been using her. Philip, a counter-intelligence agent, saves her life and captures the spy ring.
